The 85th annual Western Veterinary Conference will be held in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from February 17th through the 21st.  The conference will provide educational opportunities for all members of the veterinarian profession. They will have over 700 hours of programming for Veterinarians, over 100 hours for Veterinary Technicians, and almost 90 hours of Practice Management hours.

For new attendees and a refresher for past attendees they will have a Western Veterinary Conference Orientation on Sunday, February 17th at 5:00-6:00pm. The Mandalay Bay Convention Center is a large facility and this interactive presentation should prove to be helpful for the attendees. There is no additional fee for the orientation. It will be presented by Jim Humphries, DVM.

In early 2009 the Western Veterinary Conference opened the doors of the Oquendo Center. The facility is 66,000 square feet and includes a 190 seat theater, diagnostic and clinical laboratories, and meeting space. They provide classes for professional development year round. It is located at 2425 E. Oquendo Road, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89120. It is a short distance from the Las Vegas Strip.

The Oquendo Center has proactive training in a very high-tech facility. The skilled instructors help veterinarians perform procedures with proficiency and accuracy. They offer all-inclusive packages for continuing education that include lodging, transportation, and some meals.

Elizabeth Crane
