As “going green” becomes more prevalent in today’s eco-conscious world, businesses are climbing on board. The Las Vegas Green Chamber of Commerce is a fairly new organization that encourages businesses to band together to encourage others to take the plunge into global environmental awareness.

Launched in August of 2010, the Las Vegas Green Chamber of Commerce is about to celebrate their one year anniversary. Their vision of a future where Las Vegas businesses will help to protect our planet is growing stronger with time.

Eco-friendly businesses in Las Vegas may join this growing group that strives to raise the public’s awareness of and promote green policies and practices. Monthly networking opportunities help provide an avenue for learning more, as well as meeting others that have implemented green practices.

The National Green Chamber of Commerce

Las Vegas Green Chamber of CommerceThe Las Vegas chapter is part of the national Green Chamber of Commerce based in the San Francisco Bay area. It is a non-profit 501(c)6 and is expanding in the United States by adding new chapters. The national chapter partners include Shade Fund, Sustainable Silicon Valley, Business Alliance for a Green Economy, and Green America.

The Green Chamber of Commerce is a 501(c)6 non-profit that was founded in 2007 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Green Chamber is expanding nationally with additional chapters forming throughout the US.

There are many ways businesses can be more eco-friendly:

  • Car-pooling
  • Recycling
  • Electronic statements, quotes, and invoices
  • Shop online for office products
  • Use non-toxic cleaning products
  • Re-fill ink cartridges

The Las Vegas Green Chamber of Commerce actively strives to help reduce dependence on fossil fuels to help reverse global warming. They educate the general public and businesses about what can be done to help support a healthier global environment.
