I had the absolute pleasure of attending The Dennis Bono Show at the South Point Hotel and Casino in the main showroom. The house was packed for this live audience radio show. Dennis has collected many loyal followers over his Las Vegas career and they were there in full force to see their favorite performer.

Dennis is not only a fantastic singer, but is welcoming and warm with his guests. It doesn’t take long to see why he has so many fans. He is a gracious host, funny and entertaining. His smooth voice takes you back to the Frank Sinatra era.

Corrie Sachs—a Dynamic Package of Talent

Dennis’ co-host, Corrie Sachs, is the consummate performer. She sings, she dances, and she has a great sense of humor. Her performance started with the song “Honey Bun” from South Pacific. I thoroughly enjoyed her performance and hope to see more of this dynamo. Corrie livened up the show with her remarks and gentle digs of Dennis.

Rich Little—Impersonator Extraordinaire

Rich Little was the next of Dennis’ guests. The iconic impersonator performed some of his most well-known impersonations. Rich is a show biz institution and one of the classic headliners in Vegas. Although he has played shows here for fifty years I have to say he looked youthful and in his prime.

The Award Winning Paul Williams

You have no doubt heard some of Paul Williams’s songs…whether you know it or not. Paul has written many hits that have been recorded by the likes of Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, the Carpenters, Ella Fitzgerald, and R.E.M., to name a few. Even Kermit the Frog belted out one of his tunes.  He has won an Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Glove with hits like “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “You and Me Against the World,“ and “An Old Fashioned Love Song.”

Mark Giovi, Tymara, and the Ink Spots

The Dennis Bono ShowAnother special guest was Mark Giovi, a talented singer and one of the founding members of the Las Vegas Tenors. Tymara was an utter delight with her strong and melodic voice. This girl is going somewhere! To read more about Tymara click here.

The Ink Spots delighted the audience with their timeless sound. The group are in their third incarnation and still have it going on.

The Honorable Lorraine Hunt-Bono

We were fortunate to be invited to the show by Dennis’ wife the Honorable Lorraine Hunt-Bono. She was Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor from 1999 to 2007 and currently is the Commissioner of the Nevada Commission on Tourism. Lorraine is an absolute joy to be with, and we’d like to send a big thank you to one of the most prominent Las Vegas & Nevada icons.

The Dennis Bono Show is live Thursdays at 2:00pm at The South Point Hotel and Casino. For information on radio show broadcasts and streaming please visit the Dennis Bono website.
