The Las Vegas Clark County Library is celebrating Las Vegas Mob Month this January and it is not too late to take part in the events. The Las Vegas Mob is a subject of much importance in the history of Vegas. If you haven’t been to the library lately now is a great time to head out to enjoy all the things that the libraries have to offer. Add this to your list of free things to do in Las Vegas.

Clark County Mob MonthAll of January will feature a variety of people that were involved or have knowledge of when the Las Vegas Mob played a major role in the history of  Sin City. There will be eyewitnesses, former mobsters, educators, and law enforcement officials taking part in this event. They will speak to the history of organized crime in Sin City.

Las Vegas Mob Month Remembers Henry Hill from the Lucchese Crime Family

Tuesday, January 22 at 7:00pm the Clark County Library event will be Remembering Henry Hill. Hill was an associate of the Lucchese crime family. In 1980 he became an FBI informant and testified against the Las Vegas Mob and members of the Lucchese crime family. The movie Goodfellas was the story of Hill’s life. Ray Liotta played the role of Henry Hill.

The Mob Month at the Library will feature associates and friends recollecting about Henry Hill who only recently passed away in June of 2012. Henry Hill’s widow, Lisa, and others will talk about his life both in and out of the Mob. The event will include a never-before-seen video screening of an interview with Henry Hill that was filmed only days before his death at age 69.

January 29th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm former Clark County Sheriff Ralph Lamb will share his stories from the time he dealt with Chicago mobster and casino operator Johnny Roselli. Lamb was once considered one of the most powerful men in Nevada because of his brand of law and order in dealing with the Las Vegas Mob.

There will be an exclusive interview with Sheriff Lamb by George Knapp, the technical advisor on the new CBS television series Vegas. There will be a question and answer session after the interview.


The Clark County Library Mob Month is for mature audiences. There will be book signings and sales at the events. It is free and open to the public with seating on a first come first served basis.
